New Year = New Focus

2021

2020 was a year that I was able to start off very strong, but it ended lackluster. I'm not necessarily speaking about everything that went wrong with the world (we are all aware of this part), but my effort towards completing a lot of my personal goals. My pride and joy in my blog was completely lost in life and I allowed myself to let excuses creep in. My word was Consistent and I certainly didn't give it my all the entire year in anything except working out. While I've done the head work to give myself the grace I needed during that time, I neglected to give myself the apology I deserved. This first post in 2021 is my apology to me. I'm going to be better with action instead of words. I refuse to continue down the path of complaining, wishing, and hoping and NOT producing. I'm certainly not the only person at this crossroad so hopefully you'll join in with me to make the most of this year. The first thing I have done is ensure that my vision board is aligned with the notion of getting things accomplished. We completed our yearly One Word Challenge and my word is: Faithful. Please Google this challenge if you're looking for an option that helps simplify goal planning as well as creates a detailed level of focus. (Usually I'd provide a link, but that would defeat the purpose of encouraging doing the work to get the things we want!)

Faithful, while meaning different things to different folks, means eliminating the "outside noise" to plant, nourish, and eventually reap the harvest. Every single step of this requires me to do the work. I will only get what I'm willing to do the work on and I don't want to experience the same lack I did in 2020. When I'm working towards my goals and fully invested in sharing that journey (versus creating one), I find more fulfillment so don't be surprised if this blog becomes more filled with workout/health content as well as crafting/upcycling. These are things I've found such joy in and while the mental capacity posts matter to me, I have to let life flow and be okay with not trying to reinvent the wheel. I hope you decide to join me on this journey of being better and we can share progress throughout the year. What are your goals for 2021?
