Worth it Wednesday

Social Media

Products: TikTok Finds. While I personally don’t have an account, I end up watching compilation videos on YouTube about cleaning. While I like clean spaces, anything that can contribute to making the job easier is something I’m willing to try. I’ll only mention two products here: Scrub Daddy and Dawn Power Rinse.

Initial Thoughts: I honestly thought the Scrub Daddy was being hyped up. I have been duped into skincare this way and was disappointed. I rely heavily on reviews before I purchase something so I tried to make sure to do my homework. Since it wasn’t something that was a considerable cost, I decided that I could take a chance with the purchase and use it as much or as little as it proved to be effective. Because I use the regular Dawn as dish soap I felt like if all else failed, I could at least use it in the kitchen with dishes, but I had high hopes for this product. I enjoy the misting effect from my water bottle when doing my hair so I knew I would enjoy that part with the cleaner.

How it’s Going: The Scrub Daddy is worth it and I’m going to purchase another one so that I’m able to have one upstairs in the cleaning basket and another downstairs. I think the part that makes it functional and worth it is the actual holes within the sponge because there are plenty of sponges with a soft side and scrubbing side. While this won’t be my only cleaning option because I still enjoy cloths, it has been a good change of pace instead of using my cleaning brush on the bathroom countertops. The Dawn is something that I literally just got yesterday (LOL). I know you’re probably thinking well why are you even reviewing it then. Truth is I started using it as soon as the bag arrived at the house. We have a small crab boil on Monday and the roasting pan that was used was sprayed all over. I also noticed that my children got foolishness all over my table runner and needed to be spot cleaned. In both cases, it did what was expected. It works much better than the liquid formula when you’re not attempting to work hard, but desire for the surface to become clean. I sprayed my oven this morning and am super excited to use the scrub daddy to see if it helps in making cleaning go by easily. The fire alarm in our home is beyond sensitive and goes off nearly anytime something is cooked in the over. I’ve cleaned it before with the function on the oven as well as used Easy Off, but it’s been a while so I’m going to roll up my sleeves and see if this helps with that. Fingers crossed it will. I’ll post the results on my IG later today so be on the lookout.

Is it Worth it: If you already have a method that works for you and is effective..No. However, I needed an upgrade when it comes to cleaning the oven (I don’t clean it nearly as much as I should) and I like finding cleaning solutions that help me eliminate the need for more stuff. In my mind both of these products are worth it. I will eventually phase out some of the other cleaners I have (I had an issue back in the day with overbuying cleaning supplies) once I’ve used my supply all up. While I’ll never be like the folks that use whole bottles of cleaner or mix 5-8 different types of cleaner in one session, I do tend to use a few different products in my cleaning session and I’d prefer to get that to two if possible. Based on who I am that’s probably not ever going to happen, but a girl can dream anyway.

What types of products have you purchased from seeing on social media and do you think they’re worth it?
