Hair Products

One of the things that I really enjoy is trying new products. I’m not super specific to a certain type, but I definitely like skin care because it’s near and dear to my heart as well as hair care. Throwing in some type of food item never hurt either, but basically if it’s offered and free I willing or will at least let someone in the house try it. I’ve been apart of Influenster for years and it is a space that offers you opportunities to try products free for reviews. Since this is something that is really apart of my life, I figured I may as well find a way to add this into my blog (DUH....it took me forever to realize why I struggled with content because I refuse to actually share things that take up time in my life).

PRODUCT: Carol’s Daughter Wash Day Delight with Rose Water. I received the shampoo as well as the conditioner

INITIAL THOUGHTS: Products are a really interesting concept, but I care more about product efficacy at the end of the day.

WASH DAY: My hair was terrible! I hadn’t washed in two weeks and I used a decent amount of product so there was build up present. I typically would go for a clarifying shampoo, but because of the amount of time it takes I just went with it and I chose to double shampoo. I enjoyed using the shampoo. There was a learning curve and a little bit goes a long way. Initially, I felt like the kids in the videos that have someone pouring more stuff on their heads while rinsing because it took forever to rinse it out. If you’re going to use this please adhere to this warning or you’ll have stronger arms once you’re done...LOL. My hair was definitely clean without feeling stripped which is always a plus in my book so I was happy. I used this on my daughters’ hair as well as got the same results, but of course it took less rinse time overall since I had a better handle on how much product to use. I feel like the bottle applicator is also a bonus. Overall I give the shampoo an A and would recommend this to anyone looking for clean hair without the stripped feeling. Now on to the conditioner...It was just okay. Because of how awesome the shampoo was I had really high expectations. I’ll go ahead and share that our household hair is low porosity leaning and our strands crave intensive levels of moisture. The conditioner contains glycerin (as stated on the back of the package, it is known to lock in moisture) and upon application my hair felt great. I was able to work the product through pretty well, but I prefer a little more slip. Just a personal preference, but not necessary. However, the true test is always after washing it out and I felt that it fell a little flat. Terrible, Nah...I just prefer my hair to feel a little more moisturized.

IS IT WORTH IT: It depends. I can be honest about my unwillingness to spend a bunch of money on my hair care products as a whole. However, I know that somethings just cost more and sometimes you really do get what you pay for. Everything can not be a cheap winner like Wetline (insert side eye emoji here). I would definitely buy the shampoo and probably will in the future once we finish this bottle. I won’t pretend I’m the spokeswoman for all naturals, but I don’t tend to use a ton of shampoo so I feel like it would be money well spent. As a conditioner fan, I can’t say I’d purchase this over another one. I’ve had cheaper conditioners offer me better results. If you are coin conscious, you probably aren’t going to pick these up. I’m just being honest because when I checked out the prices in Walmart I paused a little ($10-12). Based on my experience, I feel that the conditioner will be a better prepoo for me so that’s going to be my next trial run. I’m almost certain it is going to be bomb used as such.

What hair care products are you currently using or do you want to try?
