Worth it Wendesday

Initial Thoughts: Pure excitement sums up how I felt. Cooking is something that over the past few months is just not what I want to be doing. My children aren’t necessarily fans of crock pot meals, leftovers, and basically anything easy. While we loved Marley Spoon and HelloFresh, I needed something that allowed me to claim my time back. We purposefully ordered less than usual because we weren’t sure what was going to happen and didn’t want to waste money.

How’s it Going: It’s NOT! The kids aren’t even willing to eat them. We made them try 1, but they felt it was just okay. I’ve eaten two and one was great but the other I couldn’t’ eat. I can handle foods that don’t have a ton of seasoning because that’s an easy fix, but the taste was too much to overcome on one of the meals. We still have several in the fridge and I hate wasting money so we are definitely going to make it happen, but they aren’t my favorite if I’m being honest. My oldest child let us know that she liked cooked food much better as she went to grab ramen to eat for dinner (Heavy side eye….)

Was it Worth it: For someone I do believe this is a great option. We have folks with defined palates and they just didn’t work out for us. Also, it would benefit if some of the choices they offered were more basic in nature allowing the buyer to add in various seasonings or sauces. Everything is elevated and the reason I didn’t like my one particular meal was based on the sauce the greens were in. I will admit that my taste buds have changed completely after having my third child and sometimes various tastes cause me to become nauseous. This happened, but I don’t fault the meal itself for this. However, I allowed hubby to taste it as well as he wasn’t a fan either.
